The relationship between fashion and film is timeless, and the two have been noticeably intertwined over the past century. Both seek to evoke a sense of glamour beyond that of ordinary life, and it was in 1965 that the relationship between the two became apparent. Julie Christie’s unforgettable role in Doctor Zhivago broke barriers as she created one of the most glamorous images of winter by wearing a simple Cossack hat. This particular style produces an effect that evokes the delicate and pretty features of a woman’s face, while its sheer size conveys a sense of power and independence. Keira Knightley’s recent portrayal of Anna Karenina brought back the beauty of the Cossack hat and sent sales soaring.

In general, we find that the Russian influence in fashion is steadily growing. And its rise could not be made more obvious by the “Russian fashion pack”. This group of “it girls” including  Elena Perminova, Miroslava Duma, Ulyana Sergeenko, Anya Ziourova, Natalia Vodiavona & Vika Gazinskaya is currently dominating street style blogs across the world. So with the first snowfall in Paris, we decided to create a look radiating an Eastern European charm. While the overall outfit remained simple with just a black coat and matching jeans, we placed our emphasis on the accessories which included a tanned pair of booties and matching bag. To add some eastern influence, A wore a scarf embellished in a beautiful oriental pattern, and of course the look could not be complete, without adding a Cossack hat for some Russian flair.

La creciente popularidad del llamado “Russian Fashion Pack” formado por Elena Perminova, Miroslava Duma, Ulyana Sergeenko, Anya Ziourova, Natalia Vodiavona y Vika Gazinskaya, que últimamente dominan todos los blogs de street style, solo hace que la fascinación por la moda de ese país aumente exponencialmente. Y no nos extraña porque estas chicas tienen un estilo digno de envidia. La nevada en París nos pareció el momento perfecto para lucir un look con un sombrero Cossack para transmitir un poco de su estilo.
